New Japanese Regional Map – Shimane Prefecture (日本新分縣地圖-島根縣)
1946, Japan Map Maker Co., Ltd., 54×38
This was the map of Shimane Prefecture produced by a local map-maker after the Japanese Imperialism fell. It does not show Dokdo anywhere. Japan admitted that Dokdo was originally Korean territory by excluding Dokdo from Shimane Prefecture after its fall.
The map of Shimane Prefecture produced after the Korean Independence does not mark Dokdo near Oki Island and admits Korea`s ownership of Dokdo. In addition, it indicates the strait between Busan and Tsushima as the Strait of Joseon and the one between Tsushima and Shimonoseki as the Strait of Tsushima.
